There is a lot of information available on the Internet but what to trust?

I think that these videos give the most precise and concise information on stroke production that I have found.

Quick quiz, what's the big difference between Murrays' Nadals' and Djokovics' backhands - Answer, there isn't one.  Question 2 what's the big difference between the serves of all the top players - Answer, there isn't one.  look at the good players at your club do they hit the ball with a style similar to the pro's?  The point I'm trying to make is, there's the best way to do it and there's less than best, if you copy the pro's you will have more powerful, accurate, consistent and reliable strokes.  You might not have their skill and timing or physicality, those are things you are born with and hone through years of practice.  But if you can arm yourself with the best strokes available you are giving yourself the best chance to harness your potential.

Watch these videos with your racket in your hand, are you using the correct grip?  Taking the racquet back early enough? If not, you're doing it WRONG, how long do you want to practice doing it wrong?  Practise the correct way to hit the ball in your bed/living room and then try and take that style onto the court.  It might not reap immediate results but sound technique is the best foundation for your game.  Enough preaching, here are the videos.
